Dry medium includes medium sized work in pastel and charcoal. I’ve always been interested in drawing above all else. Though collage, printmaking and painting have recently captured my attention, I’ve always returned to drawing. Moving around dry medium to form images has been a very physical endeavor for me. Through charcoal and pastel, I can physically get into image making without the barrier of process or paintbrush standing in my way. Instead,  working with dry mediums often involve one to work through the direct use of their hands. My dry work often describes the figure, or heads, which gives me a subject to be particular with, something to push further than anything else. Though the pieces are not narrative, I aim to depict these people full of story with just a gaze.
